Monopolar Resectoscope

The Monopolar Resectoscope is a rigid endourology instrument system designed for transurethral surgical procedures, particularly TURP (Transurethral Resection of the Prostate) and selected bladder procedures. It typically consists of a rigid telescope, resectoscope sheath, obturator, working element and compatible monopolar resection electrodes. The system operates with a suitable non-conductive irrigation fluid and a compatible monopolar electrosurgical generator.

Description

The Monopolar Resectoscope is a specialized endourology system used for minimally invasive transurethral surgical procedures. It allows the urologist to visualize the operative field while simultaneously introducing a powered electrode for tissue resection.

The system generally consists of a rigid rod-lens telescope, resectoscope sheath, obturator and monopolar working element. A compatible loop electrode is mounted on the working element and connected to a monopolar electrosurgical generator.

During Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP), the resection loop is used to remove obstructive prostate tissue through the urethra without requiring an external surgical incision. The system can also be configured for procedures such as Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumors (TURBT) and other selected transurethral interventions.

A continuous-flow sheath helps provide irrigation and maintain visualization during the procedure. Because monopolar electrosurgery requires an appropriate electrical pathway through the patient, the system uses a manufacturer-specified non-conductive irrigation solution. The exact irrigation requirements should always be confirmed with the specific electrosurgical system and manufacturer’s instructions.

The rigid telescope provides direct visualization, while the camera and light-source connections allow the procedure to be displayed on a medical monitor when integrated with an endoscopy tower.

Different configurations are available with varying sheath diameters, telescope angles, working lengths, working elements and electrode types, allowing the system to be adapted to different urological procedures.

NOTE

We deal in all types of high-quality medical machines, equipment and instruments from different makes, models and variants. Specifications, quality, performance, components and accessories may vary depending on the make, model, variant and individual unit. Specific features may require compatible electrosurgical generators, camera systems, light sources, electrodes, irrigation systems or particular configurations. Exact telescope, sheath size, working element, electrode type and included accessories should be confirmed according to the available unit.
